However nice and tidily-dressed you are, sometimes you just want to go off the rails don’t you? Wear something inadvisable in leather, drink vodka from the bottle, ride on the back of a stranger’s motorbike…but if you don’t have the time or energy for this, I’ve got a quick fix that will make people gasp even louder.
EABurns is a jewellery company led by Lizzie Burns that creates badgirl jewellery from sustainable materials like reclaimed leather and industrial studs. Every piece is handmade to order and you can request any colour that springs to mind for no extra cost. Although why would you – these crazy designs just SCREAM for neon.
Of course, they ain’t cheap. The Iris necklace (named for ancient fashion icon Iris Apfel) is £118, but when you consider the materials, the unique design and the quality, I don’t actually think that’s bad. And that’s from a girl who buys her jewellery in charity shops and H&M Kids…
My utter favourite – the Stegasaurus Pendant – is actually pretty modest at £48 (think about how much a mass-produced rip off from ASOS would cost) and I’d say it’s a great investment. If you like this jewellery then you’re not afraid of turning heads…and that NEVER goes out of style.
