It has long been my dream to get in a van, hit the road, and make my way down Route 66. Unfortunately I can’t afford a car, I haven’t passed my test and American fast-food intimidates my little English tum. For this reason, I’m living the experience through Tim Harrington of Le Savy Fav, bringing back ‘Marshall Headphones: On The Road’ for a second series where Jesse left off.
Tim’s made it his job to travel the length and breadth of the 50 glorious states, meeting and greeting some of the nation’s most interesting people. And by interesting, I mean bloody mental. Take Pyro Pete for example. I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional family, and developed an unnatural obsession with fire. My hands are still pock marked with burns from making bonfires in my mum’s back garden.
But Pyro Pete takes fire and it’s burny explosiveness to another level. He’s been ‘blowing shit up for Kiss, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Motley Crew since you thought Beat It was hard rock, kid. So shut up and so some respect’. He also owns a bazooka. No lie. Pete sure has some stories to tell, but I won’t ruin them for you. Besides, Pete tells them way better than I do. Watch below.
