Lana Del Rey is making quite a stir by pairing achingly beautiful music with videos that have a cinematic style akin to that of Sam Mendes’ American Beauty.
Just like ‘Video Games’, ‘Blue Jeans’ features imagery of American pop culture and famous Las Vegas locations, as well as a few outfit changes.
The songwriting is strong, with imagery of James Dean and American suburbia. Americana aside, ‘Blue Jeans’ is definitely a love song. You’ll be singing the chorus to yourself for days: ‘Baby, I will love you to the end of time. I will wait a million years. Promise you’ll remember that you’re mine. Baby can you see through the tears?’
